For centuries, Old Testament scholars and historians believed King David was not a historical figure but part of Israelite folklore. Prominent archaeologist Dorothy Irvin states, “Of these narratives [Davidic lore] as well as all the narratives of the Pentateuch, the historical problem is not so much that they are historically unverifiable, and especially not that they are untrue historically, but that they are radically irrelevant as sources of Israel’s history.” Is there evidence for Israel’s greatest king or is his story folklore? At a conference hosted by the Waialae Baptist Church, Pat presented new archaeological discoveries that affirm a historic David as well as other prominent figures in Old Testament History. Join Pat as he explains this discovery and several other significant discoveries that affirm the Old Testament.
